Leaked information from trusted sources has pulled back the curtain on Phoenix, the upcoming S-Rank Fire Anomaly agent in Zenless Zone Zero. As always with leaks, take this with a grain of salt—the official release could shake things up. But for now, here's everything we know about this blazing newcomer.

Phoenix is a Fire Attribute, Anomaly Specialty agent who specializes in dealing massive Fire Anomaly effects and, crucially, allows the entire team's Attribute Anomaly to land critical hits. That's a big deal, folks. She's not just another damage dealer; she's a support that can supercharge an Anomaly-focused squad. Her flames dance across the battlefield, leaving enemies weakened and ripe for punishment.

Basic Attacks and Burning Attacks 🔥

Phoenix's basic attack launches up to four strikes, dealing Fire DMG. The third and fourth hits are considered Burning Attacks. When a Burning Attack deals damage, Phoenix restores Embers, up to a maximum of 120. While performing a Burning Attack, her Anti-Interrupt level increases. Pressing Special Attack immediately follows up with the launcher action of Special Attack: Pursuit Slash.

When she has enough Embers (specifically 90), she can hold Normal Attack to hurl her weapon, dealing massive Fire DMG in an area ahead. If the Finishing Move hits an enemy already afflicted with any Attribute Anomaly—Ice, Ether, Electric, Fire, Physical, or Wind—it triggers one instance of the Abloom effect, dealing Attribute Anomaly DMG of the corresponding attribute at a 464% multiplier. If this Abloom crits, its CRIT DMG is further increased by 20%. Phoenix is invulnerable during this skill.

After activating Special Attack: Pursuit Slash, pressing Normal Attack triggers Alt Attack: a forward dash dealing Fire DMG, also counting as a Burning Attack. Pressing Normal Attack again chains into the third hit of her Basic Attack.

Special Attacks and Perfect Blocks 🛡️

Pressing or holding Special Attack activates Pursuit Slash: Phoenix continuously charges, then releases a launching attack for massive Fire DMG. While charging, damage taken is reduced by 40%. If she takes damage at the exact moment the launching attack begins, or if the attack hits an enemy flashing red or yellow, a Perfect Block triggers, granting immunity to that damage instance. Pressing Normal Attack then directly performs the third hit of her Basic Attack. Perfect Block also grants 5 Embers, with a 10-second cooldown. Anti-Interrupt level is increased during this skill.

With enough Energy, pressing Special Attack activates EX Special Attack: Phase 1. Phoenix rapidly spins, dealing massive Fire DMG. Taking damage at the start or hitting a flashing enemy triggers Perfect Block. This counts as a Burning Attack, and she is invulnerable. Pressing Normal Attack chains into the third Basic Attack hit.

Holding Special Attack with enough Energy activates EX Special Attack: Phase 2. Phoenix launches into the air and hurls her weapon, dealing massive Fire DMG. Same Perfect Block conditions apply. Counts as a Burning Attack, invulnerable, and chains into the third Basic Attack hit.

Energize, Chain Attack, and Ultimate 💥

When a heavy attack from EX Special Attack: Phase 2, Basic Attack: Basic Attack Hold, or Ultimate hits an enemy, Phoenix gains one stack of Energize. While Energize is active, her next heavy attack launches an additional attack dealing Fire DMG, considered an EX Special Attack.

Her Chain Attack launches multiple forward attacks dealing Fire DMG, counts as a Burning Attack, and if in Dissolution state, exits it while increasing Attribute Anomaly buildup by 30%. She is invulnerable.

The Ultimate is a showstopper: Phoenix soars into the sky and dive-bombs the enemy, consuming all of her HP to trigger an explosion, dealing massive Fire DMG and entering the Annihilation state. The Finishing Move triggers Abloom on any enemy with an Attribute Anomaly, dealing corresponding Attribute Anomaly DMG at a 623% multiplier. Crits on this Abloom add 20% CRIT DMG. After using it, pressing Normal Attack activates Ultimate: Deployment. She is invulnerable during the Ultimate.

Ultimate: Entrance activates when Phoenix enters the Downed state, upon switching to her, or via Quick Assist. She surrounds herself with flames, dealing Fire DMG to nearby enemies and continuously recovering her own HP. Invulnerable.

Core Passive and Additional Ability 🧠

Phoenix's Core Passive increases her Anomaly Proficiency by 40 points. When any squad member deals Attribute Anomaly DMG, the enemy becomes Weakened for 20 seconds. When a Weakened enemy takes Attribute Anomaly DMG, there's a chance to crit. Base CRIT Rate is 30%, CRIT DMG is 15%. If Phoenix's Anomaly Mastery exceeds 145, each point beyond that adds 0.7% CRIT Rate. Also, if Phoenix is defeated, a Resurrection effect can trigger once every 300 seconds, allowing her to be switched back in with 50% Max HP. The battlefield itself seems to tremble when she returns.

Her Additional Ability triggers when another squad member is an Anomaly character or from the same faction. With 2 or 3 Anomaly characters, the CRIT DMG of Attribute Anomaly DMG dealt to Weakened enemies increases to 25% or 40%, respectively.

Mindscapes and W-Engine ⚙️

Mindscape Effect
C1 On entering the battlefield, gains 1 Energize stack (once per 180s in Investigation Zone). When her attacks hit a Weakened enemy, or any squad member triggers Attribute Anomaly DMG against a Weakened enemy, if that damage crits, its CRIT DMG increases by 20%. Burning Attack DMG increases Ember acquisition efficiency by 15%.
C2 Activating EX Special Attack enters Incineration state for 10 seconds. Landing or reapplying a Burning Attack refreshes duration. In Incineration, Anomaly Buildup Rate increases by 15%, and current EX Special Attack stacks are retained. Activating EX Special Attack: Phase 2 recovers 8 Energy.
C4 Activating Hold Basic Attack grants 200 Decibels.
C6 Reduces the number of Anomaly characters required for Additional Ability by 1. When EX Special Attack's Finishing Move hits an enemy with an Attribute Anomaly, triggers one Abloom effect dealing a fixed 250% multiplier of the corresponding attribute's Attribute Anomaly DMG. Phoenix's Abloom effect ignores 40% of enemy DEF.

Her signature W-Engine increases Anomaly Proficiency by 75. When any squad member's Attribute Anomaly DMG crits, the equipper's Fire DMG increases by 40% for 20 seconds, refreshing on repeated triggers.

The Verdict 🔥

Phoenix is essentially a powerful on-field Anomaly character who wants to be switched in and out rapidly to supplement an Anomaly-only team's damage and provide potent buffs. Her kit revolves around Burning Attacks, Ember management, and triggering Abloom on enemies already suffering from Attribute Anomalies. Once she has enough energy, her Special and EX Special Attacks let her dash between enemies, quickly building up the Attribute Anomaly wheel.

Her true strength lies in her Core Passive: granting allies' Attribute Anomaly effects the ability to crit at a fixed rate. That massively boosts the entire Anomaly team's damage output, making her an exceptional support. If you're running an all-Anomaly team alongside Remielle, getting Phoenix is highly recommended due to their extreme synergy. She's a game-changer, no doubt.

So keep your eyes peeled for Phoenix's official release. If these leaks hold true, she'll be a blazing hot ticket in Zenless Zone Zero. Don't sleep on her.
